Creative Nonfiction
Creative nonfiction is where I thrive. I love to weave together a story that draws on my own experiences, incorporates research, and conveys a bigger meaning about people and the world. I took two creative nonfiction classes at GVSU, and they quickly became my favorite. I plan to pursue my MFA in Creative Writing with an emphasis on creative nonfiction to continue writing and learning about the genre that I have fallen in love with. Below are only a few of my favorite creative nonfiction pieces I have written.

My favorite piece I have written. A collection of love letters addressed to the Earth, each of which discuss a different environmental issue.

A braid piece weaving together memories of my late grandmother, my fear of having Alzheimer's disease, and research on Alzheimer's.

A piece about the love my grandparents have for each other and the love that I have for them, even when we are thousands of miles apart.

A short vignette piece I wrote while going through a breakup that is written in the second person point of view.
